The Junior Classic Golf LLC. Committee is thankful for the involvement of players, parents, and families. We have established rules and guidelines for both the participants and their friends or families. We believe junior players should be treated like the Pro’s, therefore we expect the players to act like the Pro’s.
It is mandated that at all times during the practice round and tournament round all participants and spectators adhere to this Code of Conduct.

Attire

Appropriate attire is defined as follows;

Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco
The use of any of these substances on or off the course will be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct and will result in immediate Disqualification from the golf tournament.

Etiquette / Course behavior
All players and spectators are expected to show the proper respect and etiquette to the following, but not limited to:

Any breach deemed to be serious by the committee may result in Disqualification under Rule 33-7. Other serious infractions include but are not limited to:

Advice
Spectators are welcome to follow players and show signs of encouragement in a respectful manner as long as it does not interfere with play. However, in accordance with Rule 8-1 USGA Rules of Golf, any player in violation of receiving advice from a spectator other than designated caddie will receive a two stroke penalty. Players are responsible for the action of parents/spectators and are reminded that contact/conversation may be construed as advice by fellow competitors and or the committee. Players may only receive advice or assistance from the designated caddie.

  * Special Language considerations will be addressed by the committee on a case by case basis PRIOR to tournament play


Scoring
It is each player’s responsibility to check the scores recorded with the competitors after each hole. Scorecards in all divisions will be exchanged at the 1st tee and must be signed by both the player and scorer prior to turning it in at the last hole. It is solely the player’s responsibility to make sure that the scores recorded were correct. Once the tournament official has checked and verified the scorecard, the player will then be dismissed by a tournament official.  We also encourage all parents to keep track of the scores from the players in your son/daughters group.

Ties
Ties for first place in each flight of each division will be immediately decided in a hole-by-hole playoff. All other ties will be decided by the guidelines outlined in the USGA Rulebook. In the event of Darkness or adverse weather conditions the guidelines outlined in the USGA Rulebook will be used to decide places.

Caddies, Carts and Spectators
(Stars & Stripes under the age of 10)
No player may ride in a cart during a competitive round. Players under the age of 11 may have one caddie, but must walk. All other players will not be allowed caddies. Pace of play will be enforced in all divisions. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to route the juniors on in an appropriate manner as not to disrupt tournament play. Spectators MUST stay on the cart paths at all times during competition. Spectator carts will be available for rent through the pro shop for $20.
* Special cart requirements for players will be addressed by the committee on a case by case basis.

Having a caddie is a privilege not a right. Any caddie who acts unruly towards the player, a fellow competitor, or a spectator will be asked to leave the course and the player may be disqualified.

Refund Policy
Your entry into this event is non-refundable. In the event of COMPLETE cancellation due to inclement weather, 15% of the entry fee will be returned. Some events may have a rain date scheduled and posted on individual tournament applications.

Players Responsibilities
Be sure you have a current edition of USGA The Rules of Golf book and are familiar with the contents and how to use it. Be sure you have enough water, and snacks to complete 9 holes. Be sure you pack sufficient cold weather equipment for yourself. Players are prohibited from using cell phones or pagers. During tournament play, phones and pagers must be turned off. Violation of this rule will result in Disqualification.

Proof of Age

A certified or notarized photocopy of one of the following documents must be enclosed with entry form in order to be accepted into the tournament
If you have not played in a Junior Classic Golf event in the past:

It is the committee’s right to refuse any of the above forms or any other not listed if it deems that it has been tampered with.

Starting Times
Rule 6-3a in the USGA Rules of Golf provides: “the player must start at the time established by the committee.  Penalty for Breach of Rule 6-3: DISQUALIFICATION.
Note: The committee may provide in the conditions of competition (Rule 33-1) that, if a player arrives at the starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, in the absence of circumstances that warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes instead of disqualification.”

Pace of Play
In accordance with Rule 6-7 of the USGA Rules of Golf, it states,” the player shall play without undue delay” Breach of Rule 6-7 is two strokes in stroke play. Any group that takes longer than 15 minutes will be considered out of position. Any player of a group that is out of position may be monitored and placed on a per shot time limit of 45 seconds until the group is back in position. Repeat offenses could result in a two stroke penalty and or disqualification.

Electronic Yardage devices
Electronic yardage devices are permitted during tournament play ONLY if the device is a USGA approved device. Measuring slope is prohibited.
